A Student's Journey
Oracle DB Design and Programming with SQL certification + 2 Udemy courses (DSA, PL/SQL);
Used Oracle DB for structured database projects with PL/SQL; designed a simple data warehouse schema in PostgreSQL and built basic ETL flows using Python, with reporting in Power BI;
Since my first year of university, I have participated in 2 academic research sessions at ASE and, most recently, presented at my first international conference in June 2025;
Built the team website and supported robot mechanics (FTC club, 5 years);
Studied core concepts like ELT vs ETL, scalability strategies (replication, sharding), data warehouse architecture (bronze/silver/gold), and data governance. Gained basic exposure to Azure services (SQL DB, Data Factory, Databricks) and dbt for SQL-based transformations;

This project is a relational database designed to manage data for a game company with multiple games that share a similar structure. The database supports key game elements such as player accounts, guilds, quests, an inventory/shop system and other addional elements, while allowing for future scalability and feature expansion.

WoWCinema is a project based on a fictional scenario where I stepped into the role of a Data Engineer, designing and building an end-to-end Data Infrastructure. A ETL pipeline ingests data from multiple sources, transforms it, and loads it into a centralized PostgreSQL data warehouse to power analytics, KPI tracking, and reporting

ZGB Delivery - Home Deliveries Management System is a Windows Forms desktop application built in C# and .NET Framework for managing home deliveries. Features include user authentication, order placement, invoice management, data visualization, and admin tools — all backed by PostgreSQL and JSON storage. Includes fun Easter Eggs for a creative touch.

A small database designed for a small exercise that describes a few functionalities for managing the activities of auction organization . The data is pure fictive and doesn't represent real data, is it used only for educational purposes to test the queries in the main file. The main scope of this mini project was to review SQL commands and syntax.

I joined the FTC Robotics Club “Evolution – Ro155” as a member of the Mechanics team. Over time, I transitioned to the Programming team, where I focused on building the club’s official website using web development technologies.
Graduated from high school with a final Baccalaureate score of 9.25 / 10, equivalent to a 3.7 GPA.
Admitted to the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Cybernetics, Statistics and Economic Informatics, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Economic Informatics (program taught in Romanian).
Completed my first year of university, where I studied programming, algorithm design, economics, accounting, linear algebra, calculus and many more. Although the courses were mostly theoretical and paper-based, they helped me develop strong algorithmic thinking and a clearer understanding of how informatics ties into economic systems. During this time, I began exploring internship opportunities in both IT and economic fields, as I was still in the process of discovering which path I want to pursue further.
Participated in the Scientific Communications Session and was awarded First Place at the ASE Scientific Communications Session in, with a research paper titled:"Is the Student Community in Romania Aware of the Impact That Learning Methods Can Have on Procrastination?". This experience strengthened both my research and public speaking skills, while allowing me to explore the intersection of education, psychology, and student behavior
Started my first real internship in the logistics sector at Gebrüder Weiss as an Air Freight Coordinator. I was introduced to the operational side of global freight logistics — managing documentation, compliance, and coordinating with international stakeholders This experience gave me hands-on exposure to structured workflows and sharpened my communication and organizational skills in a high-responsibility environment.While the role was engaging, it reinforced my belief that I feel more aligned with the world of informatics
Started my second year of university, which had been described by senior colleagues as significantly more challenging — but also more practical and rewarding As the curriculum became more applied, I began to find real direction in my studies and didn’t expect to become so deeply fascinated by the world of data This marked a turning point where my interest in informatics evolved into something more focused and long-term
Participated in the GoBiz ASE Entrepreneurship Bootcamp, where I earned an Honorable Mention (7th Place) in collaboration with a good friend. Together, we developed and pitched a theoretical business plan for an innovative financial tool called Odyssey Vision I also wrote about the experience in a LinkedIn post
After completing the Introduction to Databases university course with a practical project Multi Game Management System Oracle DB Project — I discovered a genuine passion for working with data. From this point on, I began focusing my time and energy on exploring database systems, data-driven thinking, and related technologies
Took part in a practical training program organized by SISC through their project TTJ (Tap The Job), in collaboration with partner company DevMind. The training focused on web technologies, beginning with internet fundamentals and client-server interaction. Later, we progressed to building a full-stack chat application that integrated LLM APIs (ex: DeepSeek) for conversational features, using PostgreSQL, ReactJS (with Vite), and Java Spring Boot. This experience allowed me to deepen my understanding of modern web development practices and sharpen my skills in backend+frontend integration, but still, my passion and focus remain directed toward the data world.
Once again this year, I participated in the Scientific Communications Session and was awarded an Honorable Mention (6th Place) at the ASE Scientific Communications Session in April 2025. I presented a research paper titled "Relația dintre Educație și Creșterea Economică: Studiu comparativ între România și Polonia", developed in collaboration with my girlfriend. This experience allowed me to explore the connection between education systems and economic growth. It also helped me strengthen my analytical thinking and deepen my ability to conduct comparative research from a cross-cultural perspective.
Even though I had already completed another practical training, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to join this one, as it was strongly aligned with my core interests. I was genuinely surprised by how much clarity it gave me — it felt like I had found my direction, or even my calling, within the data world. The practical program "Big", organized by SoftServe , focused on modern data workflows and included Agile methodologies, Big Data concepts, DevOps practices, Git hands-on learning, and database theory. We applied this knowledge in an end-to-end data project ( WowCinema in my case), learning about data warehouse design, ETL pipelines, database administration, data governance, and dashboard-based analysis. It concluded with an introduction to Azure Cloud technologies and dbt, reinforcing my drive to pursue a data-centered career.
As a follow-up to this year’s Scientific Communications Session, I had the opportunity to present our refined research paper — developed in collaboration with my girlfriend — at the 2025 RESILNAT-3C International Conference in Bucharest. The event brought our work into a global academic setting and marked a meaningful milestone in both research and public engagement. Feel free to check the Linkedin post for more details.
